This documentary about Billy Jean King is a tribute to a transformative figure in the ongoing quest to help the world see women as powerful figures who deserve equal opportunities, not only in sports, but in leadership. 

King’s message continues to inspire me.  The documentary details some of the sacrifices she had to make, and the courage she showed in pivotal moments of her career, when she had to be the first, she had to stand alone, and had to endure the painful comments from those who wanted to see women as subordinate to men.  Her example is a crucial reminder of the daily challenges so many women continue to experience in the way their cultures perceive them, and lights a path to the way forward when women work together to break new ground.
