This inspirational documentary gives me hope and faith that we already know how to work together, we just need to see ourselves in that light.

Lots of interesting stuff, there. I n your ‘wisdom in the Room’, however you lost me with your supposedly epiphany-like grand shift from “center of attention” to “director’s chair”
Nesflash: the director’s chair IS the center of attention- so that analogy seems rather specious to me. K.P.

Hello Kim Parrish, sorry for the delayed response. I appreciate your point that the director is the center of attention — for the actors! But a good director is invisible once the performance begins. The actors stand in the spotlight, and similarly, a teacher with a true sense of the potential in a student needs to provide room for the voice, ideas, opinions and feelings of the students in the room. So many professors believe themselves to be the only actor on opening night, all year long! In that sense, my hope is to encourage teachers to take the back seat and watch, observe, coach, and advise students as they learn to express themselves with more daring and imagination and maturity as the year unfolds. Thank you so much for your comment!
